Rich Traditions showcases the artwork of two artists, Rich Ernsting and rebecca moore higgins, both hailing from Indianapolis, IN. Working in watercolor and acrylic, rebecca paints colorful florals and details of nature. She also accepts commission work for cat/dog portraits. Paintings and Jewelry can also be seen on her Etsy page RichTraditions Etsy. Rich focuses on his series of university prints which now includes over 750 college and university campuses.
"Most artists say they have drawn and painted or been creative in some way for as long as they can remember. I guess I'm no different in that respect. I have always had this deep appreciation for nature and wildlife and I try to reflect that in my work. As I look around, my mind wanders and so does my painting. I try not to limit myself to any one subject to paint. I enjoy the challenge of painting whatever captures my interest and emotion. Even though my paintings are realistic, I like leaving some elements unclear and to the imagination. Perhaps some new image will evolve in them later..."
"In the creation of my work, I enjoy the challenge of watercolor and the freedom of acrylics. Interesting shapes, patterns, designs, and multiple images often find their way into my artwork in a variety of different styles. In 1990, I started my university series utilizing watercolor, acrylic and photography. I visit every school to create these campus memories."
